To support the education of 7,700 future Alberta students, we drew on our experiences in new school builds and modernizations, as well as ideas from other exceptional projects.
Our collective expertise allowed us to provide architecture, landscape architecture, and structural, mechanical, electrical, and civil engineering answers that create bright, fun, and comfortable mini-communities for Alberta’s students. We took a proactive, locally focused approach by setting up teams in offices near the building sites, helping us deliver timely, responsive designs.
Considering the long term impact of this major investment into Alberta’s future, we wanted to achieve the best value. We included energy efficient design to minimize environmental impact and designed a high efficiency heating plants to reduce energy consumption. By using displacement ventilation, we were able to reduce the circulation of airborne germs and bacteria, improving indoor air quality and reducing absenteeism due to illness. Sustainable growth and energy efficiency are important to Alberta’s future, and it was essential to incorporate these practices in the places where our young citizens learn.
