How do I set up job alerts?

Log into your account and click on “Dashboard” to set up job alerts. Once you’re in your Dashboard, select “Manage your email subscriptions”’ to set your available interests. You’ll receive an email alerting you when a new position is posted that matches your criteria.

How do I apply for a position?
You can search for our open positions by keyword, location, or practice area. After reviewing the available job openings, select the position that best suits your interests and click “Submit your resume for this role.” We’ll need some details from you to start the process and create a profile. You'll need an active email address, username, and password to set up your profile and log into the system. Once logged in, you'll be able to:

  • Manage your candidate profile (and update it at any time).
  • Tell us about your career preferences. We’ll send you emails automatically inviting you to apply to available jobs matching your preferences.
  • Create only one online profile. We ask that you do not create multiple profiles using different email addresses. This does not increase your chances of obtaining an interview or a position with Stantec.

If there are no current postings that match your career interests, or you're not ready to apply, submit your cover letter and resume for general consideration. Your answers to any employment-related questions may also be used to notify you of new postings (if you’ve indicated that you’d like to be made aware of future opportunities).

All information is secure. Each time you log on, you may be prompted to acknowledge that you have read and understood the disclosure agreement.

I’ve forgotten my Username and/or Password. How can I login to the system?

  • Go to the  and click on “Log back in!” found in the top right corner of the page.
  • Choose the option "Retrieve Password.” 
  • Enter your email address for information on how to reset your Password.

How can I update my profile information?
To update your profile or to apply to a new posting, go to the and “Log back in!” with your username and password, and follow the instructions provided.

Can I apply for a position late or past the application deadline?
Once a posting closes, you will not be able to view it online. Late applications will generally not be accepted.

I’ve submitted my application. What happens next?
Once we’ve received your application, a Stantec Talent Acquisition team member will review it and contact you should your profile match our requirements.

As you can imagine, we receive a high volume of applications daily. We may not be able to respond to each candidate that requests more information about the status of his or her application. Our team will contact you if we’re interested in moving forward, otherwise, you’ll receive an email notification once the position has been closed. We appreciate your patience during this process and encourage you to always check for the most current opportunities.

If you’ve checked the box indicating that you’d like to be notified of future opportunities that match your career interests or you’ve connected with us using the “Connect” feature, you’ll receive information about new postings via email. You’ll have the choice to apply for those postings as they arise.

I’d like to know about the status of my application.
Due to the volume of applications we receive, we do not accept inquiries regarding the status of your application. Once you apply for a position, you’ll receive an email response to confirm that we have received your profile or resume. During each step of the position-consideration process, you’ll also be sent an email. If you’ve been selected to move forward in the application process, a representative from Stantec will contact you by email or phone to discuss your skills in detail or schedule you for an interview.

I’ve found that your online application system keeps stalling when I try to save certain pages of information.
When you’re applying for a position or leaving your profile, your information is automatically saved each time you go to the next page. If you find your PC is having difficulties, you may want to log out and come back later. If you exit before completing the process, the information provided up to that point will be saved. You can return at any time to complete it.

Should I complete a new application for each additional job if I want to apply?
While you do not need to create an additional profile for each additional job, you will need to apply directly to each position posted each time you have interest and meet the position requirements. Submit your resume, answer pre-screening questions, and update your information at any time before the expiration date of the job posting. 

Do you have any interview tips?
We know interviews can be intimidating. We’ve put together some advice to help you prepare so we can get the most out of our scheduled time together.

  • Bring a copy of your resume, references and, if applicable, samples from your portfolio of past work.
  • Research, identify, and understand our Company and our values.
  • Understand the job description and the skills necessary to perform the position successfully.
  • Be prepared to draw on past experiences from work, school, and extra-curricular activities.
  • Interviews are a two-way conversation. Bring a list of thoughtful questions to ask during the interview.
  • Take your time when you answer; we have lots of time to get to know one another.

Our goal is to identify the candidate that best "fits" the available position. While your education and qualifications are very important, your overall “fit” is most important. Note: “Fit” is when a candidate has a blend of skills, knowledge, abilities, behaviors, and values essential for the role.

Can I contact the hiring manager or recruiter directly?
We prefer that all candidates use our online application tool so applications are available in our database. Once your application is received, our recruiters will review your application and be in touch with you if they have any questions.

How do I know if I’m receiving a valid job offer?
Stantec does not request money transfers or application fees in the recruitment process. If you are a recipient of this type of offer or solicitation, you should assume that such individuals and organizations are not making legitimate offers of employment.
